Are You Worried About Clogged Arteries? Start Drinking This!

There are so many people who have to take drugs to lower their blood pressure and cholesterol levels. Unfortunately, these drugs are harmful and don’t help in lowering the mortality rate due to heart disease.

But a clinical study has been found, which was hidden from our eyes from more than a decade. This study reveals a very surprising fact. The findings of this study have started making people aware of the potential of the fruit called pomegranate. It has been found to be helpful in restoring the health and saving so many people who are heart disease patients.

The study’s findings were as following:

Consuming pomegranate juice resulted in causing major IMT reduction, which was found to be reduced by around 30% after 12 months (IMT stands for intima media thickness).

Because of this finding, more and more people are showing interests in the benefits of this fruit. You don’t have to worry about any side-effects and this fruit is fully natural. This inexpensive fruit is effective in unclogging your arteries.

However, a larger percentage of patients are still spending a fortune on highly expensive drugs. Cholesterol-lowering statins have been found to fail in delivering positive effects. In fact, they have been associated to a staggering 300-plus adverse health effects.

The intima media is the central part of your arteries which gets inflamed. It gets loaded with plaque which has oxidized fats, immune cells, and the debris from them. This condition is widely called “blocked arteries.”

When this middle part becomes thicker, there is only a smaller space for blood contents to move through within the lumen (the arteries’ opening). When the arteries get obstructed or get closed, the patient is going to suffer from a damaging injury or even die.

That is why you should not hesitate in taking something that’s natural and helps in reducing or preventing the intima media from becoming thicker. It can help in resolving the root cause of atherosclerosis. Based on implication it can help in preventing deaths associated with cardiovascular mortality.

Today, we have a world with cardiovascular disease being the biggest cause of death. We have millions of patients who are simply using drugs which help in doing nothing more than reducing the surrogate markers associated with cardiovascular disease risk. They focus only on lipoproteins carrying cholesterol but don’t reduce the heart disease or how many people die due to it. It should be stunning why the massive potential of pomegranate has simply been ignored and neglected by everyone.

Even if there is the smallest of possibility that this simple dietary intervention could help in reducing or reversing this major disease that affects millions on the planet, we can never afford to ignore it. In fact, it will be so unfortunate if we don’t use its benefits.

The main objective behind writing this article is to give the world insight into this particular clinical trial and the findings recorded from it. The goal is to highly how important food-based interventions can be for preventing and even reversing the symptoms of a disease which kills more people than any other disease in our modern era.

The Study on Pomegranate

The study was published in Clinical Nutrition in 2014 by Israel researchers. The headline in the published study said that consuming pomegranate juice for 3 years by carotid artery stenosis patients helped in reducing common carotid intima-media thickness, LDL oxidation and blood pressure.

The researchers revealed the findings that plaque buildup within the carotid arteries was reversed when they were administered pomegranate (in juice form) for 1 year. These subjects were suffering from severe (yet symptomless) carotid artery stenosis. This condition means that there is 70% to 90% blockage within the internal carotid arteries.

There were 19 patients in the study. 14 were men and 5 were women. All were nonsmokers in the age group 65 to 75.

10 patients were given pomegranate juice, and the rest 9 (control group) were given placebo.

All these participants in the study had the following similar factors:

  • Blood pressure
  • Glucose concentrations
  • Blood lipid

They were also taking similar medications that helped lower blood-pressure (such as ACE inhibitors, calcium channel blockers, or β-blockers) and lipid (such as statins).

The 10 patients were given 1.69 oz or 50ml pomegranate juice every day for a year (which supplied them with 0.036 milligrams of polyphenols). These polyphenols mostly had anthocyanins and tannins. 5 of these patients continued to take the juice for a total of 3 years by their own decision.
