Well if you haven’t, she is the world’s fittest grandma body builder with an incredible physique to rival people in their mid-thirties.
Ernestine is an octogenarian making her the oldest actively competing body builder, she is in the Guinness Books of World Records for this feat.
You may have come across Ernestine in an ad featuring two elderly persons one on a wheelchair and taking meds while the other standing, happy and looking fit.
Ernestine is an inspiration to both young and elderly people who want to live a healthy and long life.
She was born on the 16th of June, 1936 and though early on she did not engage in body building but only started after the death of her dear sister from a brain aneurysm.
The death of her sister affected her so much that she stopped taking good care if herself which led to Ernestine developing high blood pressure and at this point she decided to take an affirmative action approach to catering for her health.
Ernestine has a daily health routine in which she…
- Wakes up at 3am
- Has a strict and structured calorie-controlled diet consisting of vegetables, chicken and boiled egg whites.
- Drinks lots of water.
- Runs approximately 80 miles or 130kms every week.
Ernestine is truly an inspiration to all and according to her the secret to success is to -- “never give up!”
