A glass of water with ice sounds like a good idea but in fact it is not good at all.
You probably doubt this opinion and think is illogical, but iced water will bring you the opposite effect of what you expect.
How iced water affects the body?
Our body uses more energy for regulating body temperature than during digestion process and the process of absorption of food and nutrients. In this process the body loses water and consumes lots of energy for additional heating of the body as a result of cold water.
Cold water slows digestion, narrows blood vessels and slows body’s hydration.
When you drink ice cold beverages after a meal, there are great chances to catch a cold even in summer. This habit also affects the increased secretion of saliva and reducing of immunity.
Practice drinking room temperature water. You will notice a dramatic improvement in digestion and feel better while eating and after the meal.
