We are constantly bombarded with information on how useful is to consume fruits and vegetables, and we continue inventing new reasons not to eat enough vegetables. One of the reasons is that vegetables from supermarkets are spoiled quickly. Another reason is the washing of vegetables, especially lettuce, celery, parsley.
There is a trick which can help you keep vegetables in fresh form for a longer period of time. The method is known as the paper towels trick.
Here are the three simple steps:
1. Wash the vegetables well and shake off the excess water as firmly as possible.
2. Put the vegetables in plastic bag, preferably one that can be hermetically closed.
3. Before you close the bag, put a few pieces of paper towels and place it in the refrigerator. Even if the vegetables remain in the fridge after a few days, just replace the paper towels with new ones.
