Oyster Mushroom In The Fight Against Cancer And Cholesterol


Recent studies have shown that Oyster mushroom (Pleurotus) is a great ally in treating cancer and lowering cholesterol.

Mushrooms from the family “Pleurotus” are long known to be a good food. But “Pleurotus eryngii”, or King Oyster mushroom is very healthy and healing.

These mushrooms are rich in protein, vitamin B and have a very large amount of lovastatin molecules which has a calming affects on cholesterol.

Alcoholic extract of these two mushrooms stimulates two molecular mechanisms that prevent the growth of colon cancer and breast cancer.
Experts advise us to always eat these mushrooms cooked because they contain hemolytic protein, called ostreolysin, which if consumed in large quantities can be toxic.
