Hair loss is a common problem in everyday medical practice. Androgenetic alopecia or also known as common baldness is the most common form of diffuse hair loss induced by androgenic stimulation of the fiber follicles that are genetically predisposed to such an answer. It occurs in both sexes aged between 17 and 25 years. Women rarely experience it and it has easier clinical picture. When it comes to women it usually occurs between the 25th and 30th year of their life, with enhanced progression in the middle of the fourth decade. Women with androgenetic alopecia typically have, as accompaniment, strengthened hairiness on the upper lip and limbs. The endocrine-gynecological findings are usually normal.

The clinical picture in men is very characteristic and it is recognized as progressive hair scarce. Hair loss starts mainly in the third decade of life and is strongly expressed if it begins earlier in life and there is history of hair loss in the family. Diagnosis is based on family history, clinical findings and trichogram and the latest trichogen method. Trichogen -- diagnosis is non-invasive method of computer counting the roots of the hairs in the selected region. The prognosis in androgenetic alopecia (common baldness), in both men and in women is still poor, unfortunately. Treatment in most cases has proved to be ineffective and the disease is followed by a genetically-determined (specified) course.
