-- Milk coatings

Mix half a cup of milk, 2 glasses of water and several ice cubes in a bowl. Soak gauze in the resulting mixture and apply it onto the affected area. Ice cubes will cool the affected area, milk will soften the skin and the coating itself will soothe pains and itching. If you have blisters on your skin, do not apply milk.

Sour cream is well known folk remedy against sun burn. Apply cold sour cream onto the affected area and you will feel relief within seconds.

-- Yogurt and lavender oil

Put several drops of lavender oil in 2 cups of yogurt and mix. Using cotton wool, apply the mixture on the burned skin. The yogurt will cool your skin, and lavender will reduce redness and irritation.

-- Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar acts as an antiseptic and will cool the skin, which will make you feel relief.

-- Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera gel is one of the best natural remedies against burns. It hydrates, cools and soothes the skin. Apply Aloe Vera gel on the red and burnt skin. Also, if you have aloe plant at home, pick one leaf and apply its liquid onto the affected area. You will instantly feel relief.

-- Cold coatings and cold shower

Soak some towels in cold water and apply them onto the burnt skin. You can also soothe your pain by taking cold shower.
