Besides it is used in culinary, mustard is also used as a remedy against muscle pain and burns.
Apply thick layer of mustard onto a burn and the pain will soon be gone.
If you want to overcome cold and/or throat pain all you need to do is mix mustard with juice of half lemon, tablespoon of salt, tablespoon of honey and half a cup of boiling water. After 10 minutes, or so, after the mixture cools, take a sip and gargle with it before you swallow. This remedy does not have pleasant taste but it very beneficial.
Mustard can help you soothe inflamed muscles after hard workout. Prepare a relaxing bath:
Fill your bathtub with warm/hot water and add 2 tablespoons of mustard and one tablespoon of sea salt in it. Mustard will increase the bath’s therapeutic effects and muscle pains will soon be gone. Lay in the tub for about 20 minutes. Shower afterwards in order to wash the mustard smell off of your body.
If you feel pain in your feet and you want to get rid of it, prepare the following feet-bath:
Put one tablespoon of mustard in a big bowl of warm water and wait for it to completely dissolve. Put your feet in the water and wait until you feel relief.
You get rid of lower back pain with a paste made of ground mustard seeds and flour in ration 1:2. Mix the two ingredients and gradually add water until you get paste-like mixture. Apply the resulting paste onto a towel and use the towel as a costing which you should put on the affected area. Fix the coating, using bandage, and let it act from 20 to 30 minutes.
