Besides their unpleasant looks, cracked heels can be very painful as well. Rough cracked skin may occur as a result of dry skin, diseases (such as diabetes, thyroid gland) obesity, long standing and inappropriate footwear.
- Removing the rough skin
Removing the rough skin, which is often yellowish and with unattractive appearance, is the first step for treating this occurrence.
- Warmbathsoftens the skin. Add little bit of shower gel in a bowlof hotwater. Soak yourfeet in the water for 10minutes or so. Warmwater willsoften the roughskin in order to make it easierfor removal.
- Rough exfoliation. Takea foot file or rubbing stoneand gently rubtheRub theheelsseveraltimes until you notice thatmost of theroughskin isremoved.
- Gentle exfoliation. Make a peeling if you want to thoroughly remove dead skin. All you need is an essential oil and sugar. Using a mixture of sugar and oil, start to rub your feet with circular motions. Thanks to sugar’s crystals, you can completely remove the dead cells from skin’s surface. Finally, wash your feet with warm water and shower gel.
- Foot mask
Once you get rid of the rough skin layer, you need to “feed” the skin. In order to do that, we offer you a homemade foot mask.
- Ripe banana
- Lemon juice
Method of preparation:
Mash the banana and mix it with the lemon juice. Apply this mixture onto the feet and do not remove it in the next 10 minutes.
- Softening and moisturizing the skin
Before going to bed massage your feet with olive oil or wart oil. Make sure you put on cotton socks afterwards.
