- 50 cleaned and peeled garlic cloves (about 5 garlic bulbs)
- 6 cups (250ml) of clear chicken soup
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 large onions (chopped)
- 3 cups of bread (chopped in cubes)
- 1 tablespoon of freshly chopped thyme
- 1 cup of sour cream
- A bunch of fresh plants -- parsley, thyme, bay leaf (you can use dried plants as well)
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Chop off the garlic tips (1/3 of them), pour olive oil over it and wrap it in aluminum foil. Put the garlic in the oven in a baking pan and bake for about 90 minutes. After it is done, leave the garlic to cool down.
In the meantime heat up 2 tablespoons of olive oil and butter. Add the onion and cook for about 10 minutes. Make sure you often mix this mixture while it is cooking.
Take the baked garlic out of the aluminum foil and add it to the olive oil, butter and onion mixture. Mix everything well and add the thyme and a handful of dried herbs (spices). Lower the fire, add the pieces of bread and let the cook for another 5 minutes until the bread is softened. Take out the handful of spices and mix the rest of the mixture in a blender until you get a half-creamy mixture. Put the half creamy mixture on low fire and add the sour cream in it. You can add black pepper if you want to.
