- 15 – 130 drops eucalyptus oil
- 2 cups distilled water
- How to make the solution:
- Mix the above ingredient and put it into a spray bottle.
- Spray all the goods that cannot be washed.
- Hang the item up to dry in a warm, dry place (You should avoid humidity because it is a great place for mold spores to grow)
- Repeat the process 3 times a week to get rid of all dust mites
According to studies, eucalyptus and other essential oils are effective to fight dust mite infestation though the reason behind it is still unclear. But basically, you can use eucalyptus oil safely to remove dust mites.
However, this oil is not that safe for children under the age of 10. As a replacement, you can use other oils like clove and fennel essential oils which are safe and also has the ability to remove dust mites and of course can be used safely when you have children over the age of 2 in your home.
