Fifty years ago, Dr. Brod Barnes found that body temperature is an indicator of waking. He especially emphasized body temperature immediately after waking up. In his book he explained the work of the thyroid gland and problems and diseases that may occur when this important gland is not working properly. Doctor Barnes invented test that can be done at home, through which you can quickly discover things about your thyroid gland.

Before bedtime place the thermometer close to you, within your reach. Remember to shake it off so the temperature is 35 degrees.
In the morning when you wake up, take the thermometer, place it under the armpit and hold for ten minutes. Then read the results and write them down. Practice the test three days in a row in order to get accurate results.
The normal body temperature varies between 36, 5 and 36, 8 degrees. You should do the test when you are quite healthy, because if you have an infection or female monthly cycle, your body temperature may vary.
Thyroid gland works normally if the body temperature is between 36, 5 and 36, 8. If your body temperature is lower than 36 5, then it means your thyroid have reduced work (hypothyroidism). Symptoms such as depression, fatigue, infection, lack of energy, headaches, hair loss, are typical of reduced work of the thyroid gland.
If the body temperature is higher than 36, 8 is means you are dealing with accelerated operation of the thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism) or an infection in the body.
Whether your body temperature is bellow or above the normal range you should consult your doctor immediately.
Avoid stress, consume foods rich in selenium, vitamin A, magnesium and vitamin in order for your thyroid gland to work properly.
