Banana Cinnamon Tea Recipe for Deep Sleep (works better than sleeping pills!)

Sleepless nights and insomnia can be caused by a number of reasons. Anxiety, stress and depression are some of the disturbing factors leading to sleeplessness. This is disturbing because most adults are subjected to one form of anxiety or stress and may have periods of depression as well.

Making banana tea

Banana is rich in potassium and magnesium, the latter helps restore regular sleep patterns and these two minerals help to relax your muscles and induce sleep.

The banana peel is actually very rich in magnesium and potassium and should be used when preparing the tea, make sure you buy organic banana and not the GMO ones as these have harmful pesticides that cannot be easily washed off. You don’t want to be ingesting these chemicals now do you?

The banana tea has a great taste and is a simple tea to prepare, in just 10 minutes you can make this tea and drink it at night just before bedtime.


  • Organic banana – 1
  • A small pot of clean water
  • Cinnamon – a pinch


  • First put your banana into the pot of water that should be boiling on a stove. Ensure that you cut both ends of the banana and that you leave the peel on.
  • Let the banana boil for about 10 minutes; strain the water after wards into a mug.
  • You can add a pinch of cinnamon to the tea.
  • It is advisable that you drink this tea an hour before you go to bed.
  • Don’t throw away the banana in the pot you can eat it as well.

The dangers of off-the-counter sleeping pills
