The 5 Times You Should NEVER Take Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) is a very healthy drink and it is known to be good for a number of ailments such as; eczema, sinus infection, arthritis, asthma, fatigue, blood loss and so on.

While it is acknowledged that ACV is beneficial to your health,when it is taken under certain conditions it may actually have some side effects. Here are five conditions in which you should avoid taken ACV.

1. When You Have Swallowing Issues

Your esophagus which is the tube from your mouth to your stomach can be burnt as a result of being exposed to strong acids like ACV especially if it’s not diluted with water or its taken in large amounts daily.

The apple cider vinegar tablets can also cause throat and esophagus burn, heartburn and nausea.

2. Where You Have A Low Potassium Level

ACV can cause potassium levels in the body to drop tremendously. Having low potassium levels is known as hypokalemia.

This can lead to constipation, paralysis that disrupts breathing, fatigue, muscle weakness and heart arrhythmias.

If you are on medication that lowers the potassium level in your body then you should avoid ACV or at least consult your doctor before using it.

3. Having A History Of Diabetes And Blood Clots

Apple cider vinegar can increase the frequency of low blood sugar or hypoglycemia in diabetics. What this means is that if you have diabetes you should consult your doctor before taking ACV to avoid hypoglycemia. Also avoid ACV if you are on some sort of blood thinning medication or if you have blood clotting issues or at least consult your doctor before taking it.

4. Avoid ACV If You Have Gastrointestinal Issues

Apple cider vinegar has a high acidic content and this can lead to heartburn, diarrhea and indigestion.

If you’re trying to detoxify using ACV, you’re more than likely to experience any of these conditions.

However, it is believed that if an ACV with a pH level of 5-7 is consumed then it is likely to limit these side effects.

5. Having Oral Health Issues

Apple cider vinegar is very acidic and undiluted ACV can actually damage your tooth enamel. It can also cause teeth sensitivity as well as giving a yellow colour to your teeth.

You can reduce teeth sensitivity by consuming ACV with the use of a straw, make sure you dilute it always with water before drinking it.

By so doing you will significantly reduce the effects of ACV to your dental health.
